Best B&B in Assisi

Going to stay in Assisi for 4 nights in Sept. I've been doing lots of internet reading on places. Would like RS travelers to give me their advise on where to stay. We will be using public transportation. Would like to keep the price under 100 Euro per night. Thanks

Not a B&B but Hotel Umbra was great. The price was around your budget but this was several years ago so it may be more now. We had a beautiful room and the hotel has a roof terrace and it overlooks a walled garden of a convent. I think the convent may now have rooms available so you may want to try that. Sorry but I don't know the name of the convent.

AAHHH...Assisi:) We started a 27 day trip to Italy with 3 days in Assisi and stayed at Hotel Pallotta.....loved...loved ....loved it! Stefano was most accomodating and the rooms were lovely...It is family run and they also run the Trattoria Pallotta which I also highly recommend. Breakfast is included and there was an honor bar available for guests later in the day. Rates for a double seem to run between 58 and 80 euro. The hotel sits in a a restored 13th century home with only 8 rooms...It is located on Via San Rufino which is one othe cobble streets up the hill from the Piazza del Comune. This was a wonderful way to start off our trip...I would stay there in a heartbeat.

Divisu, I also recommend Hotel Pallotta. It is a wonderfully restored home, pretty much in the heart of old town Assisi and the top floor lounge room can't be beat for views of the city-especially at night. Wonderful place.

Thanks for your suggestions. E-mailed the convent, no response. Checked Hotel Pallotta, need two rooms, did not have not have what I needed. Booked with Hotel Berti, does anybody know of this place, write up seem pretty good.

The Hotel Berti is rated #1 on www.tripadvisor.com for 67 hotels in Assisi. It's 4km from the train station and part way up the hill. The hotel is just inside the Porta San Pietro wall entrance to the city. The bus from the train station and even from Rome stops just outside the entrance. It can be a bit noisy because there's a parking lot along with the bus stop nearby and it could get a bit busy.
