Best area to stay in Venice.

Hi,
I will be going to Venice by train and leaving by flight and stay there for 2 nights. Which is the best area for me to stay so that i am near to attractions yet easy for me to reach from train station. Also, easy to reach the bus station upon departure. ty

Venice is compact, so you are never too far from some action. I stayed in Cannaregio as it’s quieter at night for a good night’s sleep. Apparently the Grand Canal can be very noisy.

HI,
My husband and I just spent a week in Venice this April and stayed at https://www.hotelbelsitovenezia.it/. It is truly central but tucked back off a square where you could sit every evening and a 5-minute walk from San Giglio Vaporetto stop. We came out each day and walked in a different direction, got lost, and most evenings ended on St. Marks. Abundant breakfast buffet, bar service for your aperitivo each evening. The service was beyond the wonderful, very old world, with very modern restrooms, and reasonable. Our last morning we had a 5:30 am pick-up to make it to the airport and came down to hot coffee and croissants packed up for our ride. Splurge on a water taxi to the airport if you can, from the hotel water bank, it is an adventure in itself. I cannot recommend them more. Enjoy!

Venice is fairly small, so almost any location will be fairly near to the attractions. Bus and train stations are near each other, so the only consideration is the distance you are willing to travel from there to and from your hotel. With regard to a specific area, it's simply a matter of choice.

Cannaregio area is our favorite. It is quiet and peaceful, yet very easy to walk to any of the main attractions. The mornings and evenings, especially during the golden hour of sunlight, are magical. Safe travels!
