Best airport hotel in Rome for 7:50 flight Terminal 3

What's the best airport hotel in Rome for Terminal 3? Is it best to stay at the airport or take a taxi in from Rome for a 7:50 flight?

The Hilton Rome Airport is walkable to the terminal. That would be my choice for staying at the airport.

But, depending on what you’re doing the day before, you could easily stay in central Rome and have your hotel call a cab for the early morning ride to the airport. There won’t be much traffic that time of day.

I had a later morning flight and stayed in Rome proper, which was very enjoyable to have a last night to savor the vacation.

There is nothing around the airport. If it was a 6 am flight I might consider staying at the airport. But at 7.50 probably is not an international flight so checking in a 6.30 or 7 is fine. A shared shuttle or taxi will get you to the airport is about 30 minutes. But the Hilton works.

There is the regular Hilton in the airport, which is expensive for what it is, and a Hilton Garden Inn nearby, that has a 24 hour free shuttle to the airport, (I think it took about ten minutes. ) When we were at the Garden Inn this last May, the hotel was fully booked. I noticed that the prices go up as you get closer to the date, so book soon if you decide this is your option.
Safe travels!

For a flight at that time of the morning, my preference would be the Hilton Rome Airport, mainly because I wouldn't have to get up as early as I would if travelling from Rome. The hotel is somewhat posh but for one night I could tolerate that. I often spend a few hours the evening before a flight, repacking bags and getting organized.

It's possible to walk from the hotel, take an elevator and then walk right into the terminals. Depending on time-of-day and how busy it is, I'd allow about 20 minutes for that.

I have never stayed at an airport hotel and I am the most non-morning person you will ever meet. Your hotel can book an early taxi for you, and you'll nap on the plane home anyway. Others would have a last meal in Rome and do a late check-in so they could calmly walk to the terminal. But you should think about how you want to spend your last day and plan accordingly.
I have also read there are some nice hotels and restaurants in Fiumicino, so you could split the difference.

Hotel Tiber in the seaside town of Fiumicino, right on the waterfront with good restaurants nearby; 7 kms from FCO.

I just booked the Airport Hilton again for my next trip. This will be the third time I’ve stayed there. It’s expensive, but it also allows me to just take the inexpensive Leonardo Express during the day from Rome Termini instead of needing a taxi during an early hour. (As a solo traveler, I wouldn’t take an early express train)

When my husband & I have been at Rome, we just stayed in Rome and had a taxi take us to the airport. Honestly, I slept better when I stayed at the Hilton. I could sleep longer, and there weren’t any worries about a taxi not showing up in time, etc. Plus, we had a few Mr. Toad’s Wild Rides with those early morning Rome taxis - LOL!

Airport Hilton is 10 min walk across from T3. I generally stay there for morning flights. Not cheap but not more than downtown Rome for similar accommodations. There are cheaper options in the town of Fiumicino, but you’ll need a taxi from there (10 min ride).

Your flight is really early, and I would stay at the airport. Just my two cents with context: We had an early return flight from Florence to Miami. Our hotel desk helped us book a taxi the night before. We woke up early Sunday morning with plenty of time to spare. It was pouring outside. About 15 minutes after we were supposed to be picked up, the taxi was nowhere in sight. We used WhatsApp to call the taxi company. No answer. The hotel desk was not staffed yet. We are big planners, and were shocked, because no one showed up. The three of us (me, hubby, 15 year old son) had to run in the rain 15 or 20 minutes to the train station with our (luckily only) carry on bags and backpacks. We did, indeed, make it to the airport on time. We found out later there was a race and some of the streets were closed down. None of us saw any flyers about it, and the hotel staff was not aware. Moral of the story: always, always have a plan B, and perhaps consider staying at an airport hotel especially for international early flights out. By the way, we are returning to Italy in a week, and will be staying at the Sheraton Malapensa (Milan) the night before the return flight, because it leaves at 10 am. We've never stayed at an airport hotel, but we will this time! Enjoy your trip.
