Hi - We have tickets into Venice and out of Rome 10 days later. Any suggestions on the best 10 day trip for food &wine lovers? Thanks!

You don't say when your trip is. I am doing a similar trip in reverse - 9 nights; In to Rome arriving 12/14 out of Venice departing 12/23. Since this is my second trip, I'm planning it to concentrate on cities I wanted to spend more time exploring. 2 nts Rome, train to Florence, 3 Nts Florence, train to Venice, 4 nts Venice. The train is a wonderful way to get to each city. You can visit Tuscany from Florence and drink some incredible wine.

We have traveled to Italy three times recently and I would advise at least one or two nights in a hill-town like Assisi (it's easy on the train). Three nights in Venice, three nights in Florence, one/two nights in Assisi(Sienna is nice, too), and three nights in Rome. Varenna (Lake Como) and the Cinque Terre are also beautiful, but a little out of the way.
