I know you can catch the Bernina Express Bus in Lugano (to Triano) at 10am to meet up with the Bernina Express Train. Can you catch THE Bernina Express Bus (not any other bus, but the 10am from Lugano) in Verenna or Mennagio? many thanks in advance for your reply. W. Donovan

Yes to Menaggio it goes through there. But there are also other local buses from Lugano to Menaggio.
No to Varenna. That is on the other side of the lake, the bus doesn't go through there. You would have to catch a ferry from Menaggio.

The schedule for the Bernina Express bus shows no stops between Lugano and Tirano.

So you cannot board it at Menaggio Italy, even if it goes through there.

I looked at this yesterday re another question. SBB shows the bus to be nonstop Lugano to Tirano. As I suggested to that poster, take the train from Varenna to Tirano to get to the Bernina Express (train). If you are in Menaggio or Bellagio, just take one of the morning mid-lake shuttle ferries to Varenna.

Several years ago, Menaggio was an official stop, but it's not been promoted as such for a while.
