I am looking for information about what would be needed because of COVID
to travel from Tirano to Chur and back on the Bernina Express. Would our CDC
vaccination proof be the only thing needed (if asked) or would we need to test
when coming back from Chur to Italy? This would be at the beginning of
November and realize things can change but if they don't...... Thank you in
advance for your help.
No one knows. Right now you'd need a COVID test three days before entering Italy .
Again, who knows?
Good luck for a safe trip!
Hi, I don't know exactly how this forum works, but I did look to see if I could find the information that I'm looking for and could not find it! I'm just very confused about the Bernina Express...I decided already that I wanted to take the train from Milan to Tirano, stay two nights...the middle day, I will board the Bernina Express and come back later that day to stay again in Tirano, leaving early the third day....I went ahead and reserved a place near the train station, and I went ahead and purchased a reservation to buy a ticket? How does that work? The reservation for the round trip ticket from Tirano to St. Moritz cost about $54 each way, how much will the actual ticket cost? I got first class, I realize that will be more, I just hope that it's not ridiculously expensive...I think that I'll be able to purchase the tickets April 28 as I plan to go June 28...but not sure why I have to purchase then, why can't I just wait and get them when I go to Tirano? after all, my seats are reserved?....can someone explain the process to me! thank you, Sandy

cost about $54 each way, how much will the actual ticket cost?
Where did you buy the reservations? Tirano to St Moritz should cost around CHF 26 for a first class single seat reservation.

Tickets go on sale two months before departure, that doesn't mean that you have to buy them two months before.
Sandy, you should start your own new topic on this, as few people will see it here and be able to answer. And you need to clarify some things when you post.
It is not at all clear what you mean when you say you already purchased a “ reservation to buy a ticket” for $54 each way, but will not travel until June, and still need to pay for a ticket. Who did you buy this from that it was priced in dollars, and how can it be a “reservation” if there is no date on it? Is it a voucher of some sort?
Your new question will appear on the main page for at least a few hours, and lots of people will see it and be able to help.
