bergamo transport from rail station to citta alta

Hello -
Just wondering what you all suggest regarding transit from the Rail Station at Bergamo up to the Funicular and then to the Citta Alta.

Our hotel is up at Citta Alta. (There are clearly things to see in the Citta Bassa, as well.) We are spending two nights up there. We are carrying each one large backpack which we'll want to unload before extensive sightseeing.

Right outside the train station is a bus stop (buy your ticket at the tabacchi to the right after you leave the station. Buses are very frequent. I would buy as many tickets as you know you will need.

I love Bergamo! I hope one of your days is when the crafts market is open.

I assume the ticket includes the price of the funicular?
