Bergamo to Monterosso/Vernazza in CT

Trying to get from Bergamo to Monterosso the best way via trains. Is there a better path than Bergamo/Brescia/Milan/Monteroso? That is what option I am seeing for Monday, 13 June 2022, and it seems to take a long time.

Any guidance or assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Bergamo is on a secondary rail line that doesn't have Freccia service; your only choice out of Bergamo is a regional train of some sort. [It turns out there are some InterCity trains as well--see Dario's post below.] The line serving Bergamo connects to the main rail line in Milan and Brescia. The fastest route to Monterosso is through Milan. It's neither necessary nor desirable to travel through Brescia, which puts you on a different route (through Parma) to the Cinque Terre that involves yet more legs on slow regional trains. There are many departures that allow you to connect to a fast train in Milan. Some departures take only 4 hr. 3 min., though most are somewhat longer than that.

Use the Trenitalia website to check schedules and buy tickets.

What site are you using? Anyway, stick with trenitalia.com Resellers tend to be "creative" when they can't access the official timetable.

You see "strange" or limited routes because you have entered a day of travel past June 12, the day of the summer timetable change. As you can see if you use a date before on trenitalia.com , the best "path" is a direct local train from Bergamo to Milano Centrale and a direct IC train from Milan to Monterosso.

According to the winter schedules, there are 7 daily IC trains from Milan to Monterosso. In summer the level of service can only improve, but I doubt they are adding more trains to the seaside on Mondays.

The journey takes 3 hours, plus the time from Bergamo To Milan (around 1 hour, I guess).

ps To be fair with the Bricklayers city, Bergamo station is connected with the u/c Milan-Verona high speed line and some Freccias stop there each day. Pota!
