Bells ring in Monterossa Al Mare on the quarter, half, and on the hour. Sometime in the evening, it bells ring out a tune/song. Does anyone know the name of this song?

Oie, I've certainly heard the Bells on the hour/half/quarter, but I've never noticed that they also play a tune. I assume you're referring to Bells from the Chiesa di San Giovanni Battista Church? Is this what you're referring to: www.flickr.com/photos/azdennypix/7185187497/ Perhaps I've just become so used to hearing Bells in Italy, that I wasn't paying attention. I'll listen more carefully on my next visit. Hopefully someone that's travelling there soon will be able to answer your question. Cheers!

Thank you for your response. I have no idea which church rang the bells. I stayed there for 4 nights and became very fond of the melody. I think I might have heard it years ago in one of those Bing Crosby movies. I read somewhere that the bells, in the days of old, signaled the time for the workers to come in from the fields or should I say terraces. Oie
