Bellagio in September 2014

A few questions. How will the weather be in middle of September? Looking for a mid priced hotel..100 euro per night, and suggestions please. Has anyone rented a boat? Is this a good town to use as a base for 4-5 days to take day trips around the area? Thanks for all your help.

Jackie, You might also consider staying in Varenna, which is right across from Bellagio (20 minutes by Ferry). There's a good variety of accommodations there in various price ranges. I'm not sure that €100 per night is in the range of a "mid priced hotel". You may have to increase your budget a bit. Good luck with your planning!

The weather should still be fairly warm, probably daily high approx 22 Celsius, but hard to predict. As Ken mentioned above, 100 euros per night will probably not be enough. Bellagio would be a good base, but so would Varenna, as previously suggested. The public ferry system is great.

For an idea of what weather you may find in mid-September next year you might want to see what it is now, since it is currently mid-September. I like Varenna for a home base. If you are interested in taking a cooking class I can highly recommend the class at Il Caminetto. It must be reserved in advance.
