Been on RS Village Italy ? - questions for you please

Hello all,

I am going on RS Village Italy for the first two weeks in July this summer. I was wondering: (a) do ANY of the hotels have air conditioning, that you recollect? If not, were the rooms really 'buggy' from leaving the windows open at night - I'm wondering if I need lots of bug spray and

(b) should I pack a bathing suit? I don't know if I'll really have the chance to use it? I don't want to pack anything that I don't need (I need space for souvenirs). :)

THANKS in advance. Everyone here is wonderful about offering tips and advice. :)

I haven't been on the village Italy tour but I have been to Tuscany many times and always slept with the windows open. Never had a bug problem. Husband and I are always amazed that Europeans don't have screens yet don't seem to have the bug problems we have at home.

Hi Gretchen, it's Dan. When we stayed in Florence last May, we did have problems with bugs with the window open. It was the first night and we hadn't figured out how to do the A/C (which they turn off at midnight anyway) since we had jet lag. We mentioned the bug problem to the front desk the next morning and they said you have said something, we have a citronella candle you can light in your room. Kept the bugs away for us.
