beehive hostel in rome

I have been looking at the beehive hostel in Rome and it looks like a great place. I am still hoping for a private room there but before I place a reservation, anyone have experience there? It is hard to tell from a map how close it is to the main tourist areas (Colosseum, Pantheon, Spanish Steps etc). More than walking?

Aubrey, The Beehive is only a few minutes walk from Termini station, so the tourist areas that you mentioned are easily reachable via Metro. The Colosseo Metro station (Line B) is right across the street from the Colosseum, and the Spagna station (Line A) exits very close to the Spanish Steps. I don't remember which route I used to get to the Pantheon. The Beehive is very popular so be sure to book early!

I stayed with a couchsurfer who lived about 2 blocks from the Beehive, it looked very cool. As far as getting around for the sights, I reccommend getting the Roma Pass (sold in the basement of the train station, or at any of the newspaper booths if you get there first thing in the morning) as it not only covers entry tickets, but gives a great map and bus routes, as well as covers all travel on local buses and underground for 3 days. We used them a fair amount. I think the best one from that area to the main sites was Bus 3. Hope you have a blast!

We tryed to book for Sept and they were full but they are very helpful with recommendations elsewhere. They responded very quickly and helped us with other places. Good Luck
