I am going to Italy in March and am looking for a bed and breakfast or hotel in Florence that actually serves breakfast. Anyone know of any nice ones that are not expensive?
You might have a look at THIS B&B, which serves a buffet breakfast. They also operate a nice restaurant on the ground floor. You'll have to check with them to find out if they'll be open in March.
Hotel Bigallo near the Duomo has a nice buffet breakfast. Are you looking for specific food items, or an American style breakfast?
Zoe's question is very important. To most Italians, "breakfast" is a roll and coffee - and nothing else. So if you really want or need more, you have to be sure it's being served at your hotel, or you'll still have to go outside to get other items. Don't get me wrong - there certainly hotels that have full buffet spreads, or that will serve a boiled egg and/or juice. But you can't count on these without checking.
We loved the Hotel Europa. Just about 2 blocks from the Duomo with a view of it out our window.. I believe it is in the 2013 or 14 RS guide book. More than adequate European breakfast with yogurts, breads, etc... It certainly was plenty till we could find the next gelato store. Anyway, price was right and we would stay again without question!
Hotel Pendini has a nice breakfast. Request a quiet room when booking. The breakfast is European style buffet. I believe Cappuccino is included. All you can eat. Fresh breads, meats and cheeses, yogurts, fruit bowl, cereal, juices, coffee and teas, etc. Self-serve. I found it lovely and more than adequate. Good quality food items.
Y'all are making me hungry. Thanks!
Not expensive? Uncertain what that means to your budget. I thoroughly enjoyed this small B and B, http://www.casarovai.it as it was within my budget.
