Hello everyone, my daughter (20 yrs. old) and I will be traveling to Europe from May 18-June 4. Our Destinations include Rome, Venice, Florence, southern Germany, Paris, and London. We were wondering if anybody knew of any bed and breakfasts outside of Florence to give us more of a "country feel" (and also near a rail line). Please post back. Thanks!
Tom
We are headed to Italy in May also and are considering this B&B: http://www.villailpoggiale.it/ I have no idea of the availability of the rail line. This place looks beautiful.
My husband and I are also traveling in Italy in May during the same time frame. We are looking for lodging in Sienna with easy access to the train station. We want to day trip to Florence. I have read a little about Italy Farm Stay and it sounds wonderful, but I can't find information about whether we can find one close in. Maybe someone else might know.
I don't know if it's a country feel or not, but I'm planning a trip to Florence in early May, and found this hotel (also recommended by RS):
HOTEL IL BARGELLINO
VIA GUELFA 87
50129 FLORENCE, ITALY
TEL. 39 055 238 2658

They've been extremely helpful, and have received GREAT reviews on Tripadvisor.com. Many people have said Il Bargellino was the best part of their trip.
Best part - a double with private bath is only 85 Euros/night.
We got back from our Italy trip a couple of weeks ago and stayed at Le Torre, which was about 30-40 minutes SW of Florence near Montespertoli. We absolutely loved it and would recommend it to anyone. I look forward to going back there to stay for at least a week!
