William, I assume that you have picked up a copy of Rick Steves book. Also get the Lonely Planet guidebook and do some reading. Next, go to Trip Go to each city and click on the link for hotels. They have a sorting feature that allows you to sort by price, and by hotel type (Hotel, B@B, etc.) The list that you will see is sorted by positive "customer reviews" posted by people like us. Go down the list and see what appeals to you!

You might also try Elaine Barish's book : Lodging in Italy's Monasteries. It is available thru local libraries and by purchase thru website using book title. This is an inexpensive alternative and one highly recommended by those who have used it.

I stayed at the Rose B&B. It was nice for meeting other travellers and the location was excellent.

What time of year are you traveling? The season effects prices.

I concur that Il Nido in Sorrento is great - highly recommend.
