Anyone know of any B&B's in florence, rome, tuscan region, milan, amalfi coast, sorrento, lucca, for under $100? thanks. Bill
William, I assume that you have picked up a copy of Rick Steves book. Also get the Lonely Planet guidebook and do some reading. Next, go to Trip Advisor.com. Go to each city and click on the link for hotels. They have a sorting feature that allows you to sort by price, and by hotel type (Hotel, B@B, etc.) The list that you will see is sorted by positive "customer reviews".....reviews posted by people like us. Go down the list and see what appeals to you!
this is half the fun of planning your trip, the advice listed below is wonderful, even the smaller B and B's with 3-4 rooms have their own websites and email contact info and the traveler's reviews are helpful. Also great travel reviews for Italy on venere.com
Can't recommend this place highly enough. The best accomodation during our 3 week stay in Italy. Very central to day trips to Florence, Volterra, Sienna, Pisa, Lucca etc. Book asap.

In Sorrento try El Nido. Excellent Accomodation and a great view.

You might also try Elaine Barish's book : Lodging in Italy's Monasteries. It is available thru local libraries and by purchase thru website using book title. This is an inexpensive alternative and one highly recommended by those who have used it.
William,
I stayed at the Rose B&B. It was nice for meeting other travellers and the location was excellent.
What time of year are you traveling? The season effects prices.
I concur that Il Nido in Sorrento is great - highly recommend.
