Beaches off the beaten path

My husband and I are going to Italy in mid June for 2.5 weeks. We're flying in and out of Rome, and will be doing some of the touristy things between Rome and Florence. I love the ocean, and being around the water is one of my requirements for part of the trip. Originally we were thinking of going to Cinque Terra, but would really like to get off the beaten path in a bit less touristy area. I'm looking for recommendations along the Adriatic Sea near Bologna. We're not fancy, but my husband is a bit of a foodie. We'd like to stay near the ocean for 3-4 days. Thanks

Look at the Senigallia area, old town on a nice beach (prettier ones just north of Pesaro and just south of Ancona).
We chose a night in Fano just for a restaurant tied into local fishing--it ended up closing for the holiday we were there, but we enjoyed our day there. We ate like kings in Senigallia.
Note you have some good options in southern Tuscany as well.

In case you’d still consider the Mediterranean side, along the Etruscan Coast (and in Tuscany), there’s Donaratico. Three miles inland, Castagneto Carducci. A bit farther north, Cecina. In between, Bibbona. This is also the Bolgheri Super-Tuscan wine growing region. It’s not undiscovered, but way less touristy than the Cinque Terre.
