Staying outside of Siena for a week this Fall. Will have a car and my friends and I are interested in driving up the coast. Does anyone have any coastal towns they would recommend in that area?

Most of the coastal towns are geared for summer tourism. Going in the fall is a sure way to find a town that's all boarded up. We made the mistake of going to Viareggio in mid-September a few years ago, only to find it practically deserted.

Viareggio is probably the best beach town that you will find in Tuscany.
