For graduation we would like to take our son to a good beach area in Italy or France. Any trip suggestions? Tom

Are you thinking of a swimming beach, or just being at the sea on the Mediterranean? There are some that are so beautiful with the cliffs, some that are all stones (like in Nice) and smaller towns in France along the Riviera and many have sandy beaches. Give a few more specifics and I can possibly suggest something.

You have a abundance of choice. On the French Cote d'Azur, the famous beach sites of St. Tropez, Cannes, Antibes, and Juan-les-Pins have a lot going for them including fine sandy beaches. In less well-known Languedoc-Roussillon, the beaches from Agde south virtually all the way to Spain are excellent. In Italy, check out the Amalfi Coast towns and Capri. Go outside the peak July-August period.
