we are spending two weeks in just outside of Florence and want to go to the beach close with two teenage girls in tow. how much are rentals of chairs and umbrellas on the beach typically? We are here now (June 18, 2011) and want to go during the next week (not the weekend) thanks!

It varies depending on where you are at but i've paid as little as 8 euro and I think around 15 at the most for a chair and umbrella. There should be sections of the beach where you don't have to pay but those are usually the worst areas (rocky,trashy,far from water etc.).

At all the Italian beaches I've been at, and in Greece once too, you have to pay for both chairs, even if you only use one. I've paid 6-10 euros the last 2-3 years.
