I am joinging a tour as a solo female traeler that begins and ends in Naples in September, but would like to extend my stay a couple of days to enjoy some beach time on the Amalfi Coast. I would love to spend a few days lounging on the beach under the blue and white striped umbrellas you see lined up on the coast on social media posts. Can anyone tell me where these are or of a hotel or beach club that has this type of beach access? I'm especially drawn to Positano.........
Pretty much every major beach on the Amalfi Coast has beach clubs ("lidos") that hire out sun loungers/beach access in their area for a set fee. I stayed in Maiori and was able to just walk up the shore looking at prices and facilities. I also used Google to look in the areas I wanted to see if there were posted pictures or prices. I don't know how late into September the clubs will be open, but a quick check of some we used suggests they have hours 8:30-6:30 this week.
They are on the (pebbly) beach. Walk to the bar/restaurant of the establishment and ask to rent an umbrella (which comes with 2 chez). After you pay, they will give you a ticket with the umbrella number and direct you to go to one staff member (sometime the lifeguard), who will take you to the umbrella assigned to you. In September they should have vacant umbrellas (July and August not always). If you avoid weekends there will be smaller crowds.
Just be aware the beaches are small and pebby-not sand
Positano is especially small
Lots of posts here about stays on AC
You must be in Naples night before departure flight- if that is where you fly home from
I think Maiori has a sandy beach and maybe Atrani? (next to Amalfi)
Pick a town /village with ferry access
