Hello,
Has anyone stayed in Baveno? If so, how near to the Stresa Train Station is it? Are the hotels nice? Any recommendations are appreciated. Thank you- Budget $100-$200 a night.

Baveno isn't walking distance to the train in Stresa . I have read a number of your recent posts - Stay in Stresa it will be your best choice . Read about Hotel Moderno -they have some very bad reviews-have you stayed there yourself??

Yes , I have read those reviews . We stayed there in 2012 , and it was fine , but I understand that things do change. The other hotel seems to have more consistent reviews , so that might be a better choice , We are staying there this October , in that Moderno will be closed for the season when we arrive

We stayed at Hotel Boston, a budget hotel. It's very convenient to the train station (probably the closest one), and we upgraded to have a room on an upper floor with a balcony, so we could see Isola Bella. It's not a fancy hotel, but we were fine with it. We were in Stresa to be outside most of the day, anyway.
