Has anybody attended a summer performance at the Baths of Caracalla in Rome? We will be in Rome the last weekend in July, and two operas will be performed there at that time. We are a family of four (kids 12 and 14) and enjoy the theater, although not opera experts at all. It just sounds like this venue would be spectacular! Thanks in advance for any tips or information.

We visited the Baths of Caracalla last spring and I can only imagine how fabulous the setting would be for an opera. We walked around the entire outside wall of the place before we found the entrance so be certain of it before you go--I think entrance was on south side. Bathroom facilities are available but somewhat limited for large crowds. Enjoy!
