Just got back from the Baths of Caracalla. Holy cow! If you want to viscerally experience what the grandeur of ancient Rome must have looked and felt like at its peak, go here. The scale of the place is just mind-boggling. Much more interesting than the Baths of Diocletian.

Both times I have been to Rome I wanted to go see this and did not manage to work it in either time. I will get there next time, lol! Thanks for fueling the fire!

It is quite convenient to make a visit if you are going to Ostia Antica, as the baths are close to Ostiense station/Piramide metro.

We didn't do a "tour" but we did use the audioguide. I would say the audioguide takes about 45 minutes to an hour.
