Bathing suit for CT?

We will be in CT for 5 days end of Sept. begin of Oct. (I know 5 days is a lot..but we will relax) Is it worth bringing a bathing suit or do you think we shouldn't bother. Not sure what the weather will be or even how nice the beach areas are.

Thanks!

Considering how drafty it can be in those churches, I think you'd be downright chilled! Have a fantastic time!

We were there end of September last year...I went swimming every day...water is still warm (by our N. Cal standards). If you take swim trunks, be sure they cover your knees....otherwise you can't get into the church. (just kidding)

You previous posters are all too much on the straight and narrow!!! I was actually presuming that Susan and Monte were thinking of a 'beach' for skinny dipping ;-)

We were there in mid-October. The water was probably in the 60's (like the Pacific in California in the Summer). The kids swam some, we just waded. The kids climbed down a ladder to get in at Vernazza. We all waded in at Monterosso.

CT isn't really a beach place, but it's nice to wade in a little when you are up in Monterosso.

I always pack either a swimsuit with pockets that can work for shorts or a pair of non-cotton shorts that can double as a swimsuit.

Unless we are going on a beach vacation, my wife packs one one-piece bathing suit that can also be used as a body suit with a skirt and dressed up with a sweater. On beach or cruise vacations, she brings at least two one and two-piece suits.

If CT is your only water location, one suit is plenty.

We were there the end of Sept. last year. Lots of younger hikers were wearing this swim suits with shorts and going down to swim when there were hot. We met a young couple buying swimsuits in one of the towns after the first part of their hike. So I guess the answer bring you suit if you like to swim. No real sandy beaches.. Rocks, etc.
