Basic, Clean Hotel near Rome Termini Train Station

I am looking for a basic, clean hotel very close to Rome Termini Train Station just for one night before leaving Rome. We will visit Rome when we arrive and have a hotel elsewhere. We need just a place to sleep one night before catching the taxi for the airport the next morning. Any suggestions? Many Thanks!

It's been awhile but I stayed at the Beehive. I stayed in the hostel room which was amazing but they also have private rooms with and without baths, while it is part hostel if felt more like a B and B. Only one hostel room with 8 beds. A few minutes walk to the train station. At the time I went it was in Ricks book not sure if it still is.

You could try either Hotel Sonya or Hotel Aberdeen. Both are close to Termini.

If you are taking a taxi to the airport, why not return to your previous hotel? The taxi rate to the airport is the same from central Roma.

I agree with Zoe. It's not more than a 10 euro cab ride from the Piazza Navona/Campo di Fiori/Pantheon area. If your hotel was in that location then stay there again. Enjoy one more night in Rome's beautiful streets. Termini's hotels - whilst convenient - lack the charm of the centre.

I appreciate the advice. We are staying near Pantheon for a good while after we arrive. On our last day, we are visiting Orvieto. I wanted a place near the train station, so my family can just hop off the train and March to a hotel for our last night. I am just looking for a place to sleep before leaving, that is cheaper. It doesn't even need a television. Just clean beds and bathroom for a family. I will definitely check out Aberdeen and Sonya.

Given your criteria (basic, clean and close to Termini), would recommend Hotel Rex on Via Torino. Stayed there in July and it was a convenient locale (wi-fi, breakfasts, air conditioning), with five-minute walk from the train station.

I stayed at the Sonya on an RS tour and then moved to the Hotel Contila a couple blocks
closer to the main train station. It was cheaper/clean/free wi-fi/ perfectly safe/ lots of restaurants and cafe on the same street and close by. Then you can take the train to the airport in the AM.

Thank you all for the advice. I booked Hotel Contilia. It fits our needs just fine. I would not have known about this place without the input above. As usual, the RS gang came through for me. Great people - great network.
