I recently used Barletta as a base for exploring Puglia, and I wanted to share my experience!
It turned out to be a fantastic, authentic, and less touristy spot with great train connections to nearby towns. I loved exploring the castle, the beach, and the old town, and it was so easy to take day trips from there.
If anyone is considering staying in Barletta, I would definitely recommend it. Feel free to ask if you have any questions about logistics, dining, or getting around!
I only found out later that there was a website to plan a trip...

We stayed in Barlettaa about 12 years ago and I also recommend it. I hope to return someday.
Good recommendation. We stayed in Molfetta just down the coast to see its famous Easter Procession and other ceremonies in other area towns. We also enjoyed just exploring Trani and Barlletta. Very memorable in all ways with good road and rail options and relatively few tourists, except, I'd guess, in beach season.
