Hopefully you are an experience scooter user. You will need an IDP and a license with a motorcycle endorsement for anything 125cc or bigger.

I lived in Bari briefly, you will need nerves of steel on a scooter.

I am an experienced scooter driver and certainly don't need anything more than 125cc, and I have nerves of steel ;-) but seriously Bari seems quite tame, at least on the weekend. Apparently my wonderful receptionist cannot find a rental either. I will continue exploring on foot.

The oldest part of the city is quite interesting, the cathedral is very impressive.
Try the double-crusted olive and onion pizza (sold in wedges at ant panificio). Also great seafood.
