Taking an Italian cruise line from Venice, first port is Bari. Does anyone have experiences or information about independently visiting Alberobello by train or bus? In this area for 5 hours.

I really don't think it's possible. You'd have to get from the port to the train station, then the local train takes 75-90 minutes. Then another walk from the station in Alberobello to get to the trulli zones. I think you only hope would be to hire a taxi to take you directly from the port to Alberobello and back and even that might be close.
