Per Rick's suggestion, I purchased museum tickets and reservations for the Accademia and the Uffizi ahead of my trip Italy. My problem is that when I went to purchase tickets to the Bargello from b-ticket.com, they were all sold out. That was a surprise. I found several sights online that sell tickets and reservations to the Bargello at twice to three times the price. How is this possible if the National sight list the Bargello as sold out. Any suggestions on reputable sights? And should I trust that these tickets and reservation times will actaully be available? Help please!
I thought of calling the museum tomorrow. I've rented an apartment in Florence so I am not sure how accessible help might be.
I can't imagine the Bargello would be sold out, especially not in advance. it was nearly empty when I was there in early September and it is well-known as a less-busy museum than the other two "biggies"
Maybe you're looking too early?
Hi Pam,
I agree with Debra. Unless there's going to be a special exhibit(?), or the Bargello has increased dramatically in popularity since I was there a few years ago, getting tickets shouldn't be a problem. When I went I had no reserved ticket, just walked right in and practically had the place to myself.
I've visited the Bagello 3 times over the past 11 years (most recently last September) and have never had a problem purchasing a ticket upon arrival at the museum. It's far less visited than the Uffizi and Accademia, so I think you'd be safe waiting until you're in Florence to obtain your tickets.
Just got back from Italy. Went to the Bargello one morning and just walked in. No need for a reservation. Really a neat place. Not crowded at all.
shhhh - I'm trying to keep the Bargello a secret.
I'm always (happily) surprised that it isn't crowded.
Thanks to everyone who posted. I called the museum ticket office today and they did inform me that I should not have a problem getting tickets. I feel much better know. I really did not want to miss the Bargello while in Florence! Now, I know I won't have to.
The Bargello shouldn't be sold out. I would just wait until you get there and purchase at the door. It should be no problem.
We just got back from Italy. We walked into the Bargello, no waiting and not at all crowded. You should be able to get tickets with no problem.
