Bargello Museum

We are going to Florence this summer and read in Rick Steve's Italy book (but an older version) that advanced reservations are required for the Bargello but on Trip Advisor, people say you do not need them. Can I just purchase the tickets in Florence? Do I need a "skip the line" or advanced reservation?

Thanks,
Katherine

Check the hours carefully as it sometimes has odd hours. I have visited the Bargello several times and there has never been a significant line (more than 10 people) on any visit. I have not seen a special line for people with reservations. Last time I was there was 4 years ago, so unless procedures have changed in that time, I'd just go when you feel like going and assume the line will be reasonable.

We were there the afternoon of Sat. May 24, 2014. There was no line whatsoever. We just walked right in. And it's wonderful. Don't miss it.

The current book says "reservations possible but unnecessary." I also had no wait in the fall of 2014.

No wait in late spring 2012. Buy your tickets at the museum (it's a good one; glad you plan to go!)
