When you get to The Central Square in Verona you will see a lot of outdoor Cafes - All Good!! Pick One!!
Because Doug is such a bright individual let me edit by saying - I am Italian, grew up in Rome, speak the language and just possibly may know as much about Italy as Doug!! Who loves to take cheap shots at other posters for what reason who knows? The "Central Square" that I was referring to is, in fact, Piazza Bra at the Arena di Verona. But if you don't know Piazza Bra look for a BIG CENTRAL SQUARE and you'll be there. The Cafes are not that expensive - they probably were overcharging Doug, in the hopes he would leave!!!!
Oh - And did you notice - Contrary to The Webmaster's request to stay "on topic" Doug had nothing whatsoever to contribute to your question!!!! Just wanted to do his usual mouthing off!!

Ciao, Greg

Just to avoid confusion, there is no place called "Central Square" as such in Verona. The city has several major open areas and they're all different.

The main open area you'll see near the Arena is the Piazza Bra. It's oriented to tourists, so I'm not sure I'd go just anywhere there without recommendations.

There is also the Piazza dei Signori which is the town's civic center. It's a large, lively town center with many cafes about. That might have been where the previous poster was referring to. But there isn't a place called "Central Square".

Sorry I can't recommend a memorable place to eat - in my experience Verona can be extremely touristy with the prices and quality that go with that, but I'm certain it has good local places off the beaten track.
