Bagni Della Regina Giovanna (Baths of Queen Giovanna) in Sorrento

Any input and experience on going to the Bagni della Regina Giovanna in Sorrento? We have a few days in Sorrento and want to spend one walking the path of gods and one going to the Blue Grotto. I understand you take the bus to the start of the path and walk down. We are also concerned about taking back packs and leaving them while we swim. Any input and suggestions is appreciated.

Also, we are interested in your recommendations of cooking classes in Sorrento and any input on the path of gods.

Thanks!

Just to comment on this....
If you mean the Blue Grotto on Capri, there is no dedicated walking path the grotto: you'd walk vehicle roads from Anacapri to get there, and it will take an hour or so. You are also not allowed to swim in it during the hours the boats are operating, and it's not safe to do so at all when the seas are rough.

"Can visitors swim in the Blue Grotto Capri?

No, visitors can neither enter the cave by swimming nor disembark from
their rowboat to swim inside the cave. However, after the cave closes
to the public at 5:30 p.m. (when the rowboats and ticket office
close), many swimmers enter the cave by sea. This is both illegal and
dangerous, as the cave mouth is low and narrow and in case of high
waves it is easy to get thrown against the rocks."

Just thought that was worth mention if walking there during the day to swim was your plan? IMHO, we've hiked some of the island and that isn't one I'd choose if only having one day. You might look at Villa Jovis, Pizzolungo (both of which we've done) or take the chairlift up Mt. Solaro from Anacapri and hike down to Capri.

(you do not need tours for any of this)

I was not familiar with Bagni della Regina Giovanna, but the photos look awesome! For the items you must bring, this small area looks a little easier to watch your surroundings. I'm always careful not to bring anything I don't need to the beach - no passport, minimal cash, probably no watch (unless it's waterproof). I have had things stolen while swimming in other countries, and partly I made the mistake of bringing them in a nice looking bag; luckily, the sandals which were not in the bag remained. You may see other people leaving items very visible, so it's easy to see that it's just a pair of shorts and sandals with nothing good to take.

We walked the Path of the Gods a few years ago. It was in April just before Easter so the weather was perfect and the crowds had not set in. It is a fairly level path made up of broken rocks so be sure to wear some good heavy duty hiking shoes. The scenery was spectacular and all you could hear was the bleating of the sheep sometimes and a few church bells. Such a spectacular memory. WE loved it and would go again in a heartbeat.
