baggage on Amalfi Coast bus?

I was planning on spending four nights in Sorrento and using it as a base to explore the Amalfi Coast, but now I'm thinking I might split the nights between Sorrento and Positano. I'd like to take the bus from Sorrento but I know they pack you in like sardines. Is there room for my baggage (carry on of course!?) Is it a public transit style bus or a coach?

Thanks,
Kerri

I haven't taken the bus in a couple of years, but this is what I recall:

There is a bus, not a touring coach-type bus, but it has luggage compartments underneath. You will be able to keep a small pack with you, but not a suitcase-size bag, that will go under. The driver used to ask the passenger's destination and place bags accordingly, which makes it easier to offload.

If you are returning to Sorrento, you could consider leaving your luggage there and just taking a daybag with what you need for two nights.

Yes, the public bus from Sorrento to Positano takes luggage, but as mentioned above, they eill put the larger luggage in the luggage compartment. My memory was that it was a coach style bus. When will you be traveling? If it's thus summer, you probably want to buy your bus ticket in Sorrento a few days ahead, as buses do fill up.
