I'm traveling to Florence from Philadelphia. I have a layover in Rome. Do I have to claim my checked luggage in Rome and have it rechecked?

Are you changing airlines? If not, I'm sure you can check your baggage straight through.

It will be checked all the way to your final destination unless you're traveling on a different ticket/itinerary on the Rome-Florence leg.

Why a flight from Rome to Florence? It's only a 95 minute train ride. Can you change your flights?
