Hi all. We are currently in Atrani and having a blast. Heading for Rome tomorrow but want to stop in Naples for a visit to the arch. Museum. I realize we can't take our large suitcases to the museum and will leave them at the train station. We also have two weekender/overnight size bags, and didn't really want to pay 6€ a bag to leave them at the train stn. I am getting conflicting reports on lockers or storage at the museum, and the official website seems to be no help. So just wondering if anyone has any personal knowledge if there is somewhere to leave small bags.
There is a checkroom (or was when I was last there), but I would pay the extra euro to leave everything I didn't need for the day at the train station.
When I was there about 2 years ago, there were lockers that were free, but you needed a coin (maybe €5) to lock them, then got the coin back when you unlocked them. A few were large enough for an overnight bag.
Five euro coin, huh, pal?
The largest Euro coin is 2€.
Oh right - it's the same size as the 5-shekel coin here. LOL
Can't believe it was only 10 days ago that I was using euros to pay for pints. Sigh.
Ok, for the record, there were lockers there large enough for our overnighter bags. There was a desk and they handed us a key with a number to a corresponding locker. No money involved. On the flip side, a little disappointed in the museum, wings closed, which I guess is normal. We actually went thru fairly quickly. Considering the time to get there, and paying 18€ to leave 3 bags at the train stn for less then two and a half hrs, it was an expensive side trip that we could have skipped.
