Backpacking stove canisters

I will be staying at camping grounds and would like to know if Italy sells small propane canisters that I can screw in to my pocked rocket stove?

Pocket Rocket is an MSR product and MSR makes isobutene/ propane canisters for it. Other canisters with the same thread ( Snow Peak, etc.) will work just fine. I don't know about Gaz; I have only used the larger Gaz butane canisters that have a different thread, for a Bluet stove.

OK, I found several websites that explain it. The MSR Pocket Rocket uses a standard threaded 7/16ths UNEF connection on the canister. These are widely available in many countries in many different brands. The Gaz canister is NON- threaded and will not work ( but they are mostly unavailable outside of France anyway).

Now it is finding that particular brand of canister to fit my MSR stove. Thanks, Lola, I appreciate your research.

Ciao Sammee, Not sure about the pocket rocket stove fuel canisters, but I'm fairly sure GAZ canisters are availible. Discalmer- Traveled Europe in '78 with a GAZ backpacking stove. Cordiali Saluti,

I see that Snow peak carries the threaded 7/16th UNEF connection. Now, I hope the campground carrys them.
