Hi everyone,
Other than taking the Pub Crawl in the RS book, has anyone taken a bacari tour in Venice? I wanted to take the one that the RS book mentions - the one by Allesandro, but apparently the group has to be a minimum of 6. It's only my sister and I. Can anyone suggest another guide? Thanks!
You don't need a guide. Just learn to recognize them and start in a likely neighborhood. The area around Campo San Polo is one. So is Canareggio as you walk away from the train station - basically the neighborhoods where you don't see high end clothes shops, art galleries and glass dealers. Start out reasonably early - 4:00 p.m. or so and just poke your head in likely looking places. You should quickly find places with trays of bite-sized delicacies behind the counter. Just point at what you want, order a small galss of wine, enjoy and then move on down the street to find another.
