Babymoon in October?

We're hoping to go to Europe during my second trimester. We're usually pretty active and like a fuller itinerary, so planning a more relaxed vacation (not knowing how I'll feel physically) is new for us! Has anyone gone to the Almalfi Coast pregnant? Is there anywhere else in Italy (or honestly anywhere in Europe) that you would recommend for a babymoon in the fall?

Do you mean in 2 months? I think most accommodations for October are booked up by now. I made all my room reservations for October 1-20 back in April so I was able to get the places I wanted. There are going to be lots of tourists everywhere in October. Venice is laid back and there are lots of lovely places if you avoid the main tourist areas.

Maybe a couple of Greek islands. Santorini will be a zoo, but early October on Naxos was lovely for 3-4 days if you want beaches. Chania is a charming town on Crete, lots to explore and not too crowded.

Booked up????

I just asked www.booking.com for Amalfi Coast , first full week in October, for 2 people. It came back with 3772 properties of all types!! Then I dropped the maximum price to $150 per night and it still found 1718 available.

We stayed in Minori on the AC in October. Minori was a great location. They have free lemon trail is a nice hike out of Minori. We stayed at the Antica Reghinna B&B which we loved.

Colloquial story here, about a long-ago pregnancy where the result is now 27 years old. I was at the beginning of my second trimester (I'm also an active person, and was feeling fine during the pregnancy) when we were on vacation in one of the small villages of the Cinque Terre. I had a minor issue with the pregnancy that resulted in a call to my doctor in the U.S. and a talk of how I would get to a hospital if needed, and which hospital with what facilities. I did two days of "bed rest," which involved sleeping in, lying on a sunbed at the beach and getting food served to me in my hotel room. I took it more easy for the rest of the trip, got checked out when I got home and yes, there was a situation that was monitored for the rest of the pregnancy, but had a healthy baby at the end of it all.

Bottom line, it's the safest part of the pregnancy to travel, but plan ahead, think about "what if," and know where midwives, doctors, and hospitals are if needed. I felt like we had not considered that as much as we perhaps should have.

The AC will be still be hot and crowded , and there are lots of steps. Many pregnant women feel the heat more intensely, I know I did.
I vote for charming, flat Venice, and we love the Cannaregio neighborhood, on the quiet back canals. There are no crowds, yet a nice energy, and it's easy to get around to the tourist spots.
Also, the Netherlands and Belgium would also be nice, great transportation systems, and flat. Chocolate, anyone?
Congrats on the baby!
