I found a couple companies in Venice and can ask my hotel a recommendation but does anyone have one? Thanks!
You can rent a baby in Venice?
I don't know where to rent a baby either. Sorry.
That must be a barbecue grill rental.
What are you looking to rent? You do not want a stroller in Venice, with all the bridges. A backpack or front carrier (depending on age of the child) is much easier to use.
This is what happens when you try to do trip planning on 3 hours sleep and a head cold! Trying to find baby GEAR rental places....lots when I google search but do not know what is good/legit.
We will be carrying (in fact even have a toddler carrier for 3 year old's tired legs) but was not sure if we would want the option of a jogging stroller post-nap getting dinner. Yes, there are steps depending where you go but a jogging stroller should be able to handle the cobblestones. I was also interested in perhaps renting a safety rail for the bed for the toddler.
You won't find many cobblestones in Venice, more concrete paving stones. And lots of bridges which all (nearly all) have stairs up, a tiny level bit and stairs down, often on a bend and/or a different elevation and paving textures. Many of the bridges are of a unique design, all a bit different from each other - and are worth slowing down and having a look around both at the bridge and what can be seen from the bridges.
Strollers and anything else bulky are inconvenient on the narrow calles (alleys which you will be on) and very difficult on a vaporetto.
I hope someone with experience on the ground can chime in with advice...but I always have found the barest of strollers, the ones that are as light as a full sized umbrella are easy to transport and spare you the trouble of carrying a toddler around...an inexpensive bike lock the coil cable style can lock it up if you are going inside somewhere that forbits them..people do this all the time in NYC, they leave a cheap stroller locked up outside day care centers just to transport the toddlers back and forth but keep a really sturdy stroller for longer distances. Good luck!
We rented a stroller in London for our grandchildrens' visit last May and it worked out very well. The company delivered it to our apartment and picked it up at the end of the week.
I have no personal experience with Venice rentals but this one looks professional and user-friendly:
They do not seem to have a jogging stroller but I don't know that you would want that in Venice. Cobblestones are rare there; flat stone or concrete is the norm. The streets are very narrow and you will have to contend with bridges (steps) and at times, crowds. You might do better with a lightweight stroller that is smaller and easy to lift over the bridges.
Another company, mammamamma, has a sort of jogging stroller but the wheels are not full-size. This one appears to be a franchise outfit, not locally owned like the one above.
And your hotel may have recommendations.
Venetian families seem to get their children onto little scooters around age three and the parent tows the child along---very cute, especially when mom or dad has a child on each hand. Strollers seem less favored by locals, but depending where your hotel is, you may fine a nice wide sidewalk for a long stroll. Strada Nuova, Zattere, and Riva Della Schiaviogni are all good. Also some of the residential, areas in Cannaregio.
Mammamamma is probably the largest chain for baby gear rental in Italy, operating in many cities including Venice:

But in Venice there is also:

Thanks all for insight and providing suggestions. it is tough not knowing what to expect. I will ask my hotel also since I need to ask about laundry (although Rick makes a couple good suggestions in his 2017 Venice).
I have been to Venice but it's just been awhile so I guess I forgot what was under my feet at the time. :)- We are staying in a Rick recommendation that we stayed in before (Pensione Guerrato) in a 3 bedroom apartment in the same building as the hotel. It's relatively centrally located where we do not have to go too far for dinner.
