Baby CarrIer Backpack in the Vatican

Greetings

I have looked and I cannot seem to find an answer. We have an infant under one year and have a backpack carrier to carry her. Can we use it or have to check it? The Vatican's site only mentions width of the pack. Does anyone ever remember seeing something like this.

Thanks,

I doubt they'll let you take it inside because they don't want you accidentally bumping into other people or the artwork. I would plan on checking it. The website does say it cannot jut out more than 15cm from your body and the dimensions of your backpack are at least twice that amount.

Or google baby wearing - the slinks would be much easier to pack and puts baby in front.

Post trip review: We also visited the Duomo in MIlan, St. Marks in Venice, and the Borghese Gallery in Rome and never had any problems. We carried her in the backpack. Security at first stopped us but when I turned and they saw the baby, they allowed us right through. We saw several babies in smaller papoose carriers or front carriers. The staff at the Vatican absolutely loved the baby! I was only concerned climbing to the top of St. Marks as the walls closed in. Great trip with kids.

That's good to know. I would have thought that with all the crowding at the Vatican Museums they would have had the backpack off you.

What did your daughter think of the museum and all the people? I bet she was fine.
