B&b well located in Florence

I am planning to spend 3 weeks in Tuscany and Umbria in September My idea is to use Florence as our base. I would like to stay in a B&B in Florence to interact with Italian owners, practice my basic Italian and enjoy the local culture. My idea is to use trains or buses to visit other cities or in some cases take one-day tours. My wife likes some comfort and we usually stay in hotels (4*) but I believe that in Florence it is possible to find nice B&B close to the Duomo. I usually rent cars in Europe but with the narrow streets, difficult parking and ticked I got in recent trips to France and Spain, this time I am inclined to use public transportations. Can anyone recommend me a nice B&B in Florence in a good location? Thank you very much in advance for the help!!! Happy New Year!

We very much enjoyed our stay at Residenza il Villino in Florence. Their website is ilvillino.it
They are located within a short walking distance to the Duomo and the city center and we walked there daily and at night. We did take a cab from the train station to the bed and breakfast since we didn't know the city well.
The breakfast each morning was lovely and we enjoyed the staff very much.

I would recommend B&B Il Bargello, on Via de Pandolfini, where we spent five nights in 2017. Our room had a queen-size four-poster bed and its own little private terrace with a view of the rooftops of Florence. The location is excellent, a short walk from the Duomo. They have a website and are listed in Rick Steves' Florence.

We stayed at the 1865 Residenza D'epoca B&B in 2018. It was magnificent. It was not too far of a walk from the major sites in Florence and the owners treated us as if we were members of their family. The custom made breakfast each morning was perfect. If my wife and I ever return to Florence, we will stay there again.

Dear Frank and Rd,

Thank you for your prompt response.; I will check with the B&B you recommended. I will review them. I also bought the latest version of Rick S’s guide.

We plan to celebrate our 59th wedding anniversary in beautiful Tuscany and Umbria.

Thank you again!!

Fito, in early May I have a reservation to stay at a B & B called Soggiorno Rubino, located between the train station (3-4 min walk) and a few blocks from the Duomo, with views of the Duomo. It was very highly rated on Booking.com and TA, with spacious rooms, AC and affordable prices. Good breakfast, very helpful host. I have not yet stayed there, and do not know how booked up it gets, but it’s certainly worth your consideration.
PS: 59th anniversary, that’s very impressive! Is that 59 years, or maybe 59 months?

The Hotel Balesteri is a small hotel on the Arno and wonderful place to stay in a great location.
