Hello,
We will be wrapping up our honeymoon in Florence and then Rome (flying out of Rome). I'm looking for a B&B in Florence for 2 nights and a B&B in Rome for 3 nights; any suggestions are very much appreciated.
Thank you!

You can use my favorite website for this:
www.bedandbreakfast.it
Click on Cerca (search) and type in a point of interest you want to lodge near. For example, Firenze Duomo, Firenze Ponte Vecchio, or Firenze Santa Maria Novella, like that. Same for Roma, type in Roma Termini, Roma Vaticano, Roma Fontana di Trevi, or wherever else you want to stay.
B and Bs near those places will list up. They get farther away from the point on successive pages. Clicking on the foto goes to the Information page with more fotos, a map (click on mappa), a description of amenities, and a contact area. Ok to write in English if you don't know Italian.
Be sure to know which floor the room is on. Italy counts the main, ground, first floor as Zero or Piano Terra. The second floor counts as Piano Primo. The third floor is Piano Secondo. So if the room is on the second floor, it's actually on the third floor. And ask if an elevator exists. Too often there is No elevator.
If you Google
hotels near (say) Firenze Santa Maria Novella
a list of 1, 2, 3 , 4, and 5 star hotels will show covering a whole range of budgets, and reviews are available.
Excellent advice. If it's during a warm month, make sure it's got A/C. A lot of BnB's done. Also bring some of those insect repellent wipes if you're there summer or early fall, as most places have no screens.
Thank you ladies!
My wife and I were in Florence and Rome in October, 2013. In Florence we stayed at the Florence Dream Domus (no elevator) and in Rome we stayed at Hotel Mozart. We were very pleased with both and they're conveniently located to the sights we wanted to see.
Hi! We stayed at Fontana di Trevi (http://www.bbfontanaditrevi.com/) 5 years ago on our honeymoon. Our neighbors just stayed there this spring upon our recommendation and enjoyed it. We loved the location since we could walk to everything that we were interested in. It was well-appointed (by our budget standard) and had friendly owners who were kind enough to give us medicine for my sick husband. I'd definitely recommend it!
Hi Julie,
Thanks for the recommendation.. I'm going to check it out tonight !
