We are finding better deals for the B&B in October than Hotels. We want the full experience...will the B&B isolate us from other travelers?
Bob it will not isolate you & I think you will enjoy a B&B experience. I have stayed in B&B's in many countries because of the experience & love it. Will again be staying in B&B's in Florence & Venice in an upcoming trip in May.
What B&B do you recommend for Venice?
I would agree with above posters- it would be quite the opposite! You'll get to meet the hosts and chat with them, get very local advice, plus other travellers which should give you new perspectives on the area! However, against my liking for B&Bs we were booked at the Hotel Becher but cancelled for a "Venice Suite" right on the grand canal (which is where we are staying on our next visit). Price is great - look at VRBO.com and search for Venice Honeymoon Suite. Good luck and wherever you stay I'm sure you'll have a wonderful time!
For Venice the answer is Pensione Guerrato, a favorite among RS fans. It's a B&B. Follow the FAQ instructions to search this site for discussions about it.
Laura myself & 3 friends are staying at Corte Campana in Venice for the first time in May. It comes highly recommended by lots of RS fans. I have a feeling we will thoroughly enjoy our stay there as so far none of Rick's B&B's have failed us yet. I can recommend Casa Rezzonico in Venice as my husband & I stayed there. We really enjoyed it as it has a fantastic garden area for breakfast & also to just relax & maybe have a glass of wine.
Check out Ca' Angeli as well.
