B&B in Varenna

Susan, I haven't stayed here and not sure of their current status, but you could try the Orange House B&B in Varenna. My memory is a bit "foggy" but as I recall they were closed for awhile last year due to illness (or whatever), so you'll have to contact them for current information. Happy travels!

I haved stayed at Orange House and we were very happy with it. We had the upstairs room with the ensuite bath. The downstairs room has its own bath, but it is not ensuite. There are only two rooms. I don't know when you are traveling, but I believe they are closed during the winter. We paid 73€ per night in September 2010. Piero is a delight and speaks pretty good English. His wife, Mara, doesn't speak English as well, but is very nice. If you are looking for something fun to do while you are in Varenna I suggest a cooking class at Il Caminetto. I was one of the highlights of our 3 week trip. If you are interested be sure to book well in advance.
