Any recommendations for B&Bs in Bologna?
Thanks, Don
What is your budget?
Up to $200 for an ensuite double.
Try Airbnb or VRBO. Airbnb is usually less $, but can be anything from a room in someone's house to a real BnB. VRBO is apartment rentals. I've had really good luck with VRBO. You may get more "service" from an authentic BnB though.
You can check booking.com and filter for B&Bs. Some very reasonable hotels in Bologna as well.
We haven't researched hotels or B&Bs in Bologna, but the Lonely Planet Italy guidebook has some good listings. Check out a few at http://www.lonelyplanet.com/italy/emilia-romagna-and-san-marino/bologna/hotels/best-places-to-stay-in-bologna.
This B&B gets rave reviews (including from someone I know) on Tripadvisor and Booking.com. Good location for the sights/restos etc in Bologna.
This is not a B & B and there are mixed reviews on Trip advisor, but I found this hotel, with breakfast to be just fine. However, my standards may be lower then most folks. The Hotel Palace is in a great location 2-3 minute walk to Piazza Maggiore and rather inexpensive about 80 euros for a single. Quite a good breakfast, albeit not fancy, but varied choices and it has a lift. Does it need to be updated, yep, but it is fine as it is.
Thank you everybody -- this gives me plenty to work with.

It was more than a few years ago, but I loved my stay at the Hotel Commercianti. It's on a small side street right off the Piazza Maggiore, and the included breakfast was the most lavish spread I've had in Italy. http://www.bolognarthotels.it/hotel-commercianti.aspx
I would also recommend Antica Residenza d’Azeglio. We stayed there last year and found it to be a perfect location and a charming, well kept facility. Agostino, the host, was wonderful.
