Availability to buy waking/trekking poles in Sicily

We are taking a RS tour in February but only want to take carryon as we have three flight changes and you can only take poles in checked luggage.

We would like to know how easy it is to buy the walking/trekking poles in Sicily, if anyone has any experience with this.

There are a couple brands of walking/trekking poles for sale here in the states that collapse down to fit diagonally in a small carry-on suitcase. I bought mine at a travel store, but I have also seen them at sporting goods store. Mine is LEKI "Lightwalk" and telescopes down to about 20"
Hope you find something that works for you.
Here is the link to Leki. I did not pay this much for mine - but bought several years ago.

To help clarify, hiking poles are against TSA regulations for carryon. As soon as I say this, I know that people will chime in with anecdotes about exceptions. However, it is against regulations.

It sounds as if the OP has already made the decision to buy there and is seeking local knowledge about availability.

I think only poles with sharp points typically rejected. I always take a walking stick in board with no trouble. I just put it in the overhead bin. I find walking sticks with shock absorption are best- great on cement and cobbles.

Like you, Carolyn, I travel carry-on only and am used to using hiking poles. Last summer when I hiked the Southwest Coastal Path in Cornwall, I ordered poles on Amazon for delivery to the first B&B where I stayed and it worked well. I plan to do same for trip to Slovenia this year. Also, toward end of trip, when I won't be hiking anymore, I pass on the poles to another "not-so-young" hiker.
