AutoEurope pick up in Milan. Terminal one or two?

Hi all,
Looking at a flight in/out of Milan in June and when looking at their website it gives you the choice between Terminal one or two. I have not booked tickets yet. Will the arrival terminal be indicated on final ticket info once I book them? I imagine it's not a huge deal getting between the two terminals but I thought I would ask. At what terminal do most flights arrive? Does it depend on whether or not the flights originates from within or outside of Europe? Thanks in advance.

Best,

You'll be flying into Terminal 1.

We book all of our cars by calling up Autoeurope, using the toll free number; get zero-deductible collision, which covers any body damage. Read this about driving in Italy and restrictions involved [ZTLs]; avoid leaving anything of value in a car when parked:

While having a car out in the countryside is useful if not essential, because of these issues understand that driving is not an efficient means of traveling between cities.

For navigating, use www.viamichelin.com. There are several options for routes, the + signs for intermediate stops. The also have an app for your phone.

Thanks N Kingdom,
I've seen a link to that site before but will now bookmark and read. I've driven in France a great deal but it's been years since I've driven in Italy. I don't even remember having ZTL's then, 1996 ish?

I'm not sure when initiated, but there are ZTLs in practically all town and city centers. Searches on booking.com [which I like to use because of reviews by actual guests] can identify hotels with parking.

Hope you a safe and pleasant trip. Where are you planning to go?

Oh, be sure to get the IDP, because without it you would not be licensed to drive; if an accident could suffer insurance cancellation.
Good idea to make a copy of your passport. At the same time a 2x2" head shot will save the photo charge at AAA.

One week in Emilia Romagna and a week in either Umbria or Le Marche. In Emilia Romagna within an hour or so of Bologna so my 17 year old son (who is obsessed with European sports cars) and I can take a full day tour of several of the well know Italian sports car manufacturers. The tour starts in Bologna and includes a full lunch. Just starting the search for accommodations etc..

I will have to get a new IDP as the one I got last June for our trip to France will have expired. Leaving June 5th.

Be sure to visit both auto museums, very convenient from Modena, which happens to have our favorite restaurant in Italy, Da Danilo. The Central Park Hotel is a few steps to the downtown ZTL and has parking.

Le Marche vs Umbria IME the latter has more easy places to visit. Spello is very easy to get in and out of.

T2 is the original old Terminal which is now used by the low cost airlines (Easyjet primarily, which uses Malpensa as one of its hubs).
The new T1 terminal is used by all other legacy airlines, including those flying inside and outside of Europe.
The rental companies are in a multistory parking structure attached to the terminal.

Roberto,
Thanks for that point of clarification between the two terminals as I may in fact arrive via a EasyJet/Norwegian Air low cost combo from the US or I may go for a more legacy liner like Lufthansa/Deta etc.. It just depends on how much I end up valuing total low cost over convenience. I'm assuming whichever terminal I fly into I will easily be able to get to whichever terminal I need to go to in order to retrieve my AutoEurope rental car.

What's the rental agency? Hertz? Avis? Europcar?

I look up flights on skyscanner.com.

Norwegian Air uses T1.
T2 is basically the EasyJet terminal.
There is a free shuttle bus that takes passengers between the two terminals.
There is also the train, but the bus is free.
