We will be driving from Venice to Ortisei this summer and want to make a short stop in Bolzano for lunch and a stroll along Piazza Walther. We can only plan on a 2 hour stop. Can you recommend a good authentic German Restaurant with great beer in Bolzano, preferably near Piazza Walther? Alternatively, since we will have a car, we could just park in a lot near Piazza Walther to walk around and eat somewhere else.
The point is, we can only schedule about 6 hours for the drive from Venice to Ortisei.
Any suggestions?

Just bear in mind that others here often remind potential drivers in Italy the the blood alcohol level for drunk driving is quite low - hopefully you'll have a designated driver.
