My hubby and I went to both Rome and Venice on our last trip to Italy. We have the chance to visit either place for two nights this August but unsure which place is better during their holiday August 15. We will be going to either place from Florence. Since this is the end of out trip, we will fly out of either place. Any input is appreciated! Thank you.
This will be our 7th trip to Italy combined with other countries. We are again going to Venice which IMHO is one of the most unique places in the world. Rome will certainly be hot and Venice being on water would be a bit cooler and if you hit the back streets, crowds will be not too bad. We have explored a lot of the back streets but will take a closer look at the Jewish area and the Lido. We are only there for 2 days as well this time. If you are leaving Florence and have not been to Verona, that is a lovely city and is easy to get around. You could stop there for a day and take the train the next day to Venice spend a day and night there and fly out of Venice.
Whatever you decide Enjoy.
