We have a 6.55 am flight to Brussels in June. I see the ATVO has a bus leaving at 5 am to the airport. is this enough time to check in, security etc. to make this flight or should we be looking at the 4.20 am bus? Any input would be appreciated.

Um, what is your departure airport ; what time does the 5AM bus get you to the airport?
Presumably you are originating somewhere in Italy ( since your question is in the Italy forum) so the standard advice would be to be at the airport 2 hrs prior to flight time

Joe- we will be in Venice & have a 6.55 am flight to Brussels . The bus should take about 25 min. But I don't know how busy the airport is at that time to get thru security etc. I was looking for someone who may have left at this early time & could give me an insight as to timing to make our 6.55 flight . Should we take an earlier taxi?

You need to miss the cruise passengers who will be arriving en masse via coach from the cruise ship terminal. The 5 a.m. bus should get you to the airport by 5.30. Helps if you check in on line the day before (I always do) then you only have to check bags, which is relatively quick. Another good reason to travel with carry-on only! Being already checked in and with no checked baggage you can go straight to security. The cruise ship people begin arriving around 7.00.
